DESCRIPTION
SKU Code: G1012/24PVDThis MWC model has a US pattern 12/24 hour dial format and like all MWC 50m rated G10 models retains the battery hatch which has been discarded by most other manufacturers, the battery hatch saves considerable expense when a replacement battery is required and also enables replacement when on deployment without the need to locate a watchmaker. This model has impact resistant glass, using actual glass means that the watch is very resistant to minor scratches and also gives the watch a much cleaner and more streamlined appearance. With the exception of ourselves most other manufacturers still continue to use plastic/acrylic glasses for their G10 watches which are easily scratched. This model also uses Super-Luminova for improved night time visibility. Super-Luminova operates like a light battery. After sufficient activation by sunlight or artificial light, they glow in the dark until the luminosity gradually diminishes although larger markings are often visible for the whole night. This activation and subsequent light emission process can be repeated again and again, and the material does not suffer any aging. The other advantage is that Super-LumiNova pigments are totally free of radioactivity.
The special covert matt black non reflective PVD finish is often specified in military contracts for many special forces units as well as by anti terrorist units and for various covert operations. In the PVD process the steel is not black all the way through because the color is created by a special chemical PVD plating process which is vastly superior to the painted finish used on some lower quality watches which can easily fade or rub off. This PVD process means that the color of the steel is altered at a molecular level, therefore it will not deteriorate even during heavy usage although it can be destroyed if the case is badly damaged by a piece of metal being gouged out or if the case is worn down by really heavy abrasion against rocks or something similar.
Our G10 is one of our most tried and tested G10 models and in its earlier variants has been in service for nearly 30 years. A large number of serving military have evaluated this model and its predecessors over lengthly periods in a wide variety of deployments and all reports have been very favorable.
The G10 is supplied with a Black NATO webbing strap. The back of the case bears various contract markings and each watch is serial numbered.
